POST MATCHDAY DOCUMENT

Interesting appointment, as guessed.
ReplyDeleteAnother name out for the Super Cup: Eriksson.
Benquerença back and Miranda again with him, so it will be difficult for Proença to have always his EURO2012 assistants. Anyway, Proença reached his top, now in my opinion it's ok
Marijo Strahonja as exptected, and a normal appointment for Atkinson.
Christian Dingert refereed Offenbach-Fürth yesterday in DFB Pokal.
ReplyDeleteThe result: one wrong handball penalty, two sending-offs including a straight red card due to an allegedly tried violent conduct. Harsh decisions. Fürth after that with 9 men, after the wrong penalty against themselves, failed. They lost 0-2 and were out. Again a crucial mistake, one of many in a row. And that is enough for the FIFA badge.
Even in friendly Kaiserslautern - Bayern which I saw yesterday he missed quite obvious penalty and some obvious yellow cards...
DeleteNormal appointments for me. Even Benquerenca gets an probably easy match after his long absence.
ReplyDeleteRemember Edward, sometimes the names of the teams aren't enough to say if a match will be easy or difficult.
DeleteEverything can happen in every moment, and a referee has to be always aware.
The importance of these play off matches is, first of all, that the winner teams will join the group stage.
Then, in a second moment, we can consider the difficulty of the match itself.
I don't know if you agree.
It's differente from (for example) a group stage match in which you can also have already reached your target.
Kassai showed 10 yellows in 2011 in a match between APOEL and Legia (am I right?)..you cannot predict play-offs, that is right.
DeleteActually Niklas it was APOEL - Wisla Krakovie.
DeleteChefren, of course every match is difficult and important. But it also natural some matches to be considered easy mostly because of their long presence at UEFA competitions.
I think Kobenhavn-Lille is one of the most important clashes of this playoff round. The fact that Strahonja has got it is interesting. I presume Kralovec will get Celtic-Helsingborg. He is already familiar with Hampden Park, would be nice.
ReplyDeleteI agree, Niclas. Kobenhavn and Lille are two very similar teams in strength. The possibility is high that this will be a tight and hard fought duel. Therefore an important test for Strahonja.
ReplyDeleteThe most important tie of the round is arguably Spartak Mosva-Fenerbahce. Atkinson's appointment only reflects his high standings in UEFA's books.
Absolutely. Pascal, can you observe Eriksson?
ReplyDeleteAmój rodak Borski sędzióje mecz PLAY-OFF wprzyszłym tygodniu
ReplyDeleteStark has a match on Wednesday with Salver, Pickel, Welz and Fritz.
ReplyDeleteAnd Brych a 2nd leg with Borsch, Lupp, Zwayer and Winkmann.
ReplyDeleteStark has Braga-Udinese... Brych another name out for the Super Cup.
ReplyDeleteChapron for Malaga. Surprise.
ReplyDeleteI can't believe in my eyes. Chapron is being given such a big match. UEFA surprises us once again.
DeleteOn the other hand, we do not know whether it is really sooo big.
DeleteCoefficients:
Panathinaikos 50.920
Malaga 16.873
-----
67.793
Kobenhavn 46.505
Lille 38.835
-----
85.340
I know that UEFA does not appoint refs based on coefficients, but Malaga's importance on international level is not really high. But of course, it is a sonorous game, but I still think BATE Kiryat will be more difficult.
Mažić, Webb, Cakir
ReplyDeleteI'm going to think that Skomina will referee the Super Cup.
ReplyDeleteMe too. Kassai or Skomina, one of both I presume.
ReplyDeleteOne could have guessed Mazic' appointment for AEL-Anderlecht. Riley is probably not only there to observe Mazic for UEFA, but also for FIFA.
ReplyDeleteReferee: Cüneyt Cakir (TUR)
ReplyDeleteAssistant Referee 1: Bahattin Duran (TUR)
Assistant Referee 2: Tarik Ongun (TUR)
Fourth Official: Orkun Aktaş (TUR)
Additional Assistant Referee 1: Hüeyin Göçek (TUR)
Additional Assistant Referee 2: Süleyman Abay (TUR)
AEL - Anderlecht
ReplyDeleteFull appointment
Referee Milorad Mažić (SRB)
Assistant referees Milovan Ristić (SRB), Igor Radojčić (SRB)
Additional assistant referees Milenko Vukadinović (SRB), Miodrag Gogić (SRB)
Fourth official Vladimir Jovanović (SRB)
UEFA Delegate Steen Dahrup (DEN)
UEFA Referee observer Michael Riley (ENG)
After Kirkup's mistakes at Euro 2012, Webb will work again with his ARs from the 2010 WC and UCL finals: Cann and Mullarkey.
ReplyDeleteSlightly opportunistic to my mind.
ReplyDeleteIn my opinion, Webb - Cann, Mullarkey had very good matches together and they should have stayed together at Euro as well.
DeleteThat's it.
DeleteNiclas, what about German FIFA assistant referee Detlef Scheppe?
ReplyDeleteHe seems a very experienced man, with many bundesliga matches in the last years, but not so much considered in international competitions...
He is Kinhöfer's assistant referee, for both counts the same. In Bundesliga much, international nearly nothing. But now he accompanied Aytekin, probably because Schiffner is still injured.
ReplyDeleteCould you find out what was Schiffner's injury and how long he will out?
DeleteHis injury was as far as I know a cruciate rupture. He was out from January and I have no information when he will be back. He is still Bundesliga listed so he must return this year.
DeleteAtkinson should have awarded a penalty to Spartak in 44'. Excessive holding in the box.
ReplyDeleteAtkinson has used the kit of last season, the green one.
ReplyDeleteThe new kits will be used from the group stage matches?
